That's beautiful. I believe cats belong in baskets.

Trying my cell phone's ability to take night pictures. Pretty much a full moon but took picture while under a tree. Want to see what I get when it is a new moon.

A few days ago

If you blow up the picture to full size, there was a bald eagle on the beach.

Beautiful!

I used to see deer in my garden, back in North Dakota. Surprisingly, they didn't do a lot of damage. It was the rabbits that were really destructive. Finally put up an electric fence and that kept everything our except the gophers.

The deer don't do much destruction to our lawn either. We have some rabbits that we see periodically and they don't seem to do much damage. I don't have a vegetable garden however. I have had issues with beetles eating all the leaves on my roses though. I hate to use chemicals to deal with them but not much choice.

The only thing that damaged my lawn in North Dakota were the gophers. My lawn was all covered with gopher mounds. IIRC I had something like 3/4 of an acre of lawn.

There are no deer where I am, but I went for a long drive the other day and ended up having to dodge a heap of kangaroos, and in a couple of instances, wallabies, which is pretty unusual. Roos are bloody everywhere, but wobblies are usually extremely shy and don't come near the roads very much.

Deer are a similar danger to kangaroos as far as hitting them while driving. I often see deer appear from the forest in the middle of the night.

Deer are actually substantially bigger than the average eastern grey kangaroo, and are likely to cause more damage. The biggest difference is that you can be reasonably assured that if a deer moves, it will move in a more or less forward direction. A roo will go in literally any direction, randomly, and there is absolutely no way to predict which way it will jump. You've just got to hope it doesn't jump directly into the path of your car. Yes, that has happened to me. Yes, several times.
