One common overriding attribute Conspiracy Theorists have is if they think they are clever enough to figure out how something could be hoaxed then it must have been hoaxed, lack of evidence for this hypothesis be damned. One common accusation is that Stanley Kubrick hoaxed the Moon landings for NASA. The maker of these videos examined how wrong Kubrick got the science in 2001:

Kubrick, 2001, and Apollo (pt 2)

Of course Kubrick helped NASA fake the moon landings!  How else do you think he got his hands on those crazy "Barry Lyndon" lenses?

If only it turned out he had faked "Eyes Wide Shut"...

Great find!

actually, me too.  I was just being snarky.

Actually, I had originally typed "A.I." except then I was like, "I like that movie."

Poor "Eyes Wide Shut."  Everybody always rags on you.  Even people who like you...

Never saw the film, but I respect the visionary excellence of certain screen caps from the film. *cough - Nicole Kidman - cough*

It was classic Kubrick, which is a good thing if you like Kubrick. I think it got a bad rap largely because Tom Cruise's character is such a blithering idiot and the "resolution" with his wife doesn't really resolve anything. That criticism however misses the fact that a major plot point is the Doctor and his wife have a royally fucked up marriage due in part to the two of them having really poor decision making skills. Their marriage is doomed and dysfunctional. The Doctor's blue balls adventure is a symptom, not a cause or a temptation.

Have any of you hijackers actually watched the videos?

I watched the first one.  But then I got distracted thinking about the bath scene in "Spartacus."  Now I'm all hot and bothered.

Appy-polly-logies.  I watch the second now!

I just feel the trial scene is one of ths most unsettling scenes in film history.

I don't suppose you've seen Cannibal Holocaust or Antropophagus.

The videos, interesting as I found them, won't do a thing to convince Hoaxers. "Kubrick knew his NASA fakes needed to be far more accurate than in just a Hollywood movie. Anyway, there were still mistakes made..." And then they'd launch into silly little things like the flag not waving, etc.

It is true, I actually saw it on TV, on the French/German public culture channel at that.

At least NASA did a better job. The 2010 moon sequence looked phony with a big F.
